Two employees sustained minor accidents on Tuesday in a stampede that occurred after particles fell down throughout rescue operations on the accident website of the Silkyara-Barkot tunnel in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district.
The incident occurred at round 4.45 pm when the method of set up of an auger machine, for drilling within the tunnel, was in its last phases.
As per the small print, 10 employees had been concerned within the putting in course of, out of which two sustained minor accidents within the stampede that occurred after the particles fell.
Following the incident, the injured employees, recognized as Yusuf Ali and Sahidu Rama, had been rushed to a short lived hospital constructed close to the accident website.
They had been supplied with first support and their situation is steady.
Notably, a group of 10-15 employees and technical workers are at present finishing up the rescue work.
Reportedly, the stampede occurred as a result of presence of a number of individuals on the accident website. Nonetheless, the precise cause for the stampede is but to be ascertained.
UTTARKASHI TUNNEL COLLAPSE
Notably, a portion of the Silkyara-Barkot tunnel on the Brahmakhal-Yamunotri nationwide freeway collapsed within the early hours of Sunday, November 12, which led to the trapping of round 40 employees inside.
In keeping with an inventory of the trapped employees, 15 are from Jharkhand, eight from Uttar Pradesh, 5 from Orissa, 4 from Bihar, three from West Bengal, two every from Uttarakhand and Assam, and one from Himachal Pradesh.
On the time of penning this information, the rescue work was in full-swing to get well the trapped employees.
