A Trinamool Congress (TMC) Panchayat member was shot lifeless in broad daylight in West Bengal’s South 24 Paganas district on Monday morning.

Baruipur MLA Bivas Sarkar rushed to the spot after the incident and stated, “Laskar was the regional chairman of Bamungachi block. The act of crime was committed by a group of armed miscreants who slaughtered him. He was on his way to early Namaz when the assailants opened fire.”
“In time we will find out the conspiracy behind this brutal murder,” Sarkar added.
In the meantime, Joynagar MLA Biswanath Das lashed out on the CPIM, accusing the get together of “bringing back violence in politics.”
Talking to indiatoday.in Das stated, “This incident is a grim reminder of the dark past of Bengal, the past that people of Bengal hope to forget. CPIM is a party that people remember for raining violence in the state. Today, they are struggling to find a place on Bengal’s political dais. This act was propelled to cater to the personal interests of the CPIM who want to make their presence felt by targeting TMC leaders.”
CPIM WORKER LYNCHED IN SUSPICION
Shortly after Laskar was attacked, locals chased the gunned assailants and held no less than two individuals, each allegedly belonging to the CPIM cadre. Each alleged suspects have been crushed by locals, and considered one of them died whereas the opposite was arrested by the police.
Nevertheless, CPIM has accused Laskar of operating a “mafia raj” within the space.
